A little bit of history
From the stories and some historical documents we've concluded that, in the beginning of the 14th century, monks of the Saint Augustin Les Limoges order started a monastery on this very spot. The vineyard they started here was named "La Maison des Pères".
Up untill 1940 "les cellules", the monks' chambers were still partially intact. Sadly, the monastery collapsed in 1942 due to weather influences and bad maintenance. Only the two neighbouring barns still stand. The chimney, the 'cave' (basement), and a wallcloset are the only things left of the monastery. Locals and some stories speak of the monks using the tunnels from their basement as escape routes. One tunnel leading to the castle of Chabrignac en another leading to the castle of the viscount of Lascaux. The entrance to these tunnels are still open though the tunnels themselves have been partially collapsed.
If you visit us you'll see why the monks chose this location, they've always had a good taste for beautiful sights.
