Markets & festivities
During the months July and August evening-/dinner-markets are being held in the neighbouring villages. The so-called Marchés des producteurs de pays. The nearest villages are Voutezac - Le Saillant, Ayen, Ségur-le-Château and Saint-Pardoux-Corbier.
These evenings are very well-visited by tourists and the French themselves. At every markets there are dozens of stands where local farmers sell their own produce like meat, cheeses, vegetables, lettuce, bread, fruit, crêpes, the list goes on and on. You will normally be able to cook the things that you have bought at the market stands at ready lit barbecues. And since there is no such thing as a French meal without wine the wine producers are also present. In our opinion these evenings are definitely worth visiting and since it's relatively cheap it might just as well be the evening of your stay!
And ofcourse in Objat, every sunday from 8.00 AM to 12.00 AM, there is the sundaymarket, the whole year out. Besides the 'regular' stands, which sell shoes and clothing, there are also local farmers offering their products like cheeses, vegetables, fruits, poultry and bread.
And last but not least, the whole year out there are a range of festivals and happenings including la fête de la Framboise, Floralies, Journée de l'âne, la fête des vieux métiers, 14 Juillet etcetera. So please ask us which festivities take place during your stay at La Maison des Pères so we can help you make your stay an even better one.
